arizona snowbowl ski resort

Flagstaff is much different from the Arizona you’re picturing. Here in northern Arizona, cacti and desert heat give way to cool pines and scenic, snowy peaks. Located on the majestic San Francisco Peaks at 9,500 feet above sea level, Arizona Snowbowl is your year-round high elevation destination, whether you’re skiing in the sun in the winter or escaping the desert heat in the summer. You don’t have to travel very far to enter a whole different climate. Arizona Snowbowl lies just 14 miles outside of Flagstaff, 2 hours from Phoenix, and 70 miles from the Grand Canyon. Since the resort’s opening in 1938, Arizona Snowbowl continues to be home to some of the best skiing and snowboarding terrain in the Southwest, as well as one of the best instructional programs in the southwest. Snowbowl features two lodges, outdoor dining options and a ski that has one of the highest percentage of bilingual instructors. In the summer, Snowbowl becomes a hub for live music, family fun, and weddings. Take in the dramatic scenery of northern Arizona from a bird’s eye view by spending your summer afternoon on Arizona Snowbowl’s Scenic Chairlift ride. Or, wind through the pines during a leisurely game of disc golf. Arizona Snowbowl operates daily from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the winter and Friday through Monday 10 a.m.-4 p.m. from Memorial Day weekend through mid-October.
